My researches concern particularly the area of activity :
Self-made web developer, very comfortable on a LAMP platform, but will do the job with some others languages as well, like ruby, perl or python, considering my good learning abilities. Some *nix skills (as a backup for a busy sysadmin eg) and daily Linux usage as a workstation. I'll regularly wander on the internet to keep myself up to date with emerging technologies.
Continuously learning new things, new technologies (mainly OOP related), no matter the language (I'm not PHP centric), no matter the platform (as long as it runs on some kind of *nix), curious, geeky, with good adaptation capabilities, I need an environment which regularly procures me new technologic playgrounds and intellectual challenges, and will give the best of myself under high pressure.
I'm now looking for opportunities to do full-time R&D on web technologies and/or develop ITIL based processes and methodologies around my main skills. I also wish to widen my professional experience to the international, especially in the areas of Montreal, Scandinavia and Oceania.
Mission
: Developer at the IT department of Newsweb (Lagardère Group), mainly working on large scale community tools:
- Distributed blog plateform
- Integration of bulletin board with the internal user management system
- End-user interactivity in static (generated) content
I'm also in charge of migrating legacy PHP4 application servers to PHP5, ensuring compatibility (and refactoring if necessary) for all production code.
Mission : Working on a stock exchange management application, I had to refactor a legacy codebase into proper PHP5 Object Oriented code. I then proceeded to knowledge transfer to the rest of the team, focused on software engineering and AJAX technologies.
Mission : R&D, mainly PHP5 and python based solutions for internal or customers needs. Worked on applications involving real estate management, distributed server farm auto-magic configuration, issue tracker etc. Responsible for most web-based technology choices and management in the company.
Mission : Responsible for the developpement of a complete web-based frontend to Axis Ip Cameras, from database and application modelisation to implementation in an object oriented fashion (as far as PHP4 permitted it), using the builtin cameras HTTP API.
Mission : Using pre-existing complex CMS tools, I developped several websites for the agency customers. My work also included Linux Redhat servers maintenance, and a few perl engineering.
